„It’s a question of blue“ Lichtfestival Gent 2024
L’heure bleu, the blue hour… the time between day and night often appears to us as the hour of dreaming and freedom. Some artists placed blue on the edge of darkness, but in many countries blue is the color of hope…
This project has two parts. Part 1 is my own light installation and live painting performance at the Sint-Salvatorkerk (Sleepstraat). Part 2 is the projection along the Sleepstraat, consisting of images and performances from residents of Gent. People from the neighborhood, kids, members of the turkish community, Students from the royal art academy…they all worked with me together in different workshops before. And in that way we together created a long open light gallery in the city center of Gent, seen by 600 000 visitors during the Lichtfestival Gent 2024. This video is coming soon….
